Our team has years of experience and training from an array of sources. From Butler University, to the Himalayan Institute; from the Ritz-Carlton, to the Indiana Pacers Pacemates, each staff member brings a unique perspective on not only their area of expertise, but also on bringing together a holistic approach to health and wellness.

MELANIE UPCHURCH  DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Originally from Atlanta, Melanie has been dancing since the age of 2 and has attended several prestigious programs including the Washington School of Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Columbia City Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and the Firsepark Program at Brenau University. She studied at Butler University as a Dance Arts Administration major where she was given the opportunity to study a wide range of dance styles. In addition to her studies in the United States, Melanie has toured Poland as well as danced in Russia with a select group of Butler dancers performing various works.

Melanie’s Philosophy:
Dance is my outlet and I hope to encourage others to allow it to be theirs. Whatever the style, dance is an excellent way to communicate, build confidence, improve fitness, and have fun. I aspire to teach others how to be a part of an art for which I have an extreme love and passion.



MELISSA WEBB, RYT  YOGA THERAPY TRAINER

Melissa Webb received her certification from the Himalayan Institute Teachers Association in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Since then she has been teaching hatha yoga to both beginning and advanced students in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas. Along with asana, she likes to incorporate aspects of relaxation, breathing and meditation into classes. In the years since her certification, she's completed a detailed study of Yoga Therapy.

Melissa's Philosophy:
I believe you can achieve and maintain wellness through movement. The first step is accepting the body you have now and what it’s capable of doing. Then the type of workout isn’t as important as doing some kind of exercise. Movement will help your body function properly and your mind clear. Choose whatever works best for you at the moment and keep moving



SARAH RASCH, BA  PERSONAL TRAINER

Sarah has been working as a personal trainer for over six years and is certified as a Performance Enhancement Specialist. She has a BA in Health and Fitness from Purdue University and has participated in many sports and fitness activities since she was young. Sarah finds helping clients realize and attain their personal health and fitness goals very rewarding, and looks forward to continuing this at Vibe Fitness®.

Sarah’s philosophy:
There are many different components to fitness and it is my belief that it is important to incorporate all of those components in order to reach your goals. I believe that it is beneficial to train the body in a way that will carry over to a client’s day to day activities, which is why I include a variety of functional, core and stability movements to a client’s routine. The most important part of training is to listen to what each client wants to accomplish and then to use my education to help show and guide them to getting the results they want.

AMY WARREN MT, CMA  MASSAGE THERAPIST

Amy has been in the medical/massage field for the last 15 years and truly enjoys helping to make a healthy difference in the lives of her clients, both physically and mentally. Amy’s experience includes Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, Reflexology, Sports Massage and Pre- and Postnatal Massage. Amy continues to train and educate in the field, and has most recently been studying Energy Therapy.

Amy's Philosophy:
I believe that massage is one of the many important steps to de-stress, maintain movement in the muscles and joints, create good mental and physical health, and overall leads to homeostasis (balance) in life. I am happy to be here at Vibe Fitness® and look forward to sharing my love of massage with everyone.


MICHAEL POWELL, LMT  MASSAGE THERAPIST

Michael Powell LMT. is an Indianapolis native who has returned home after extensive travels through Asia, the Pacific rim, the American south-west and Pacific north-west. Michael received his certification in massage therapy from Aquarian Age School of Massage in 2000 and strives to create a relaxing experience for his clients that leaves them feeling refreshed and rejuvenated while melting away tension and stress.


ERIC BRYANT, RYT  YOGA INSTRUCTOR

I bring a very down-to-earth, personal approach to my classes. Drawing from my own practice and experiences, my classes are a challenging mix of creative flowing sequences built around the framework of an over-riding theme or concept. In my classes I use personal observations of how my yoga practice relates to and supports my life off the mat. I began my study of yoga in New York City in the spring of 2000 while looking for ways to get back in shape, improve my mental/spiritual outlook and get out of my tiny studio apartment. I'm registered with the Yoga Alliance, and am certified to teach at the 200-hour level through the internationally recognized OM Yoga Center. I've also completed a 25-hour teacher training with Doug Swenson focusing on his holistic system, Yoga Sadhana Chi. My classes incorporate a lively, playful vinyasa flow to harmonize the breath and body, an attention to alignment to find space in each pose and a practice of being mindful to what is going on in the body and mind in each moment.


ALICIA WOODS  HEALTH AND FITNESS SPECIALIST

Alicia Woods is the founder/owner of Vibe Fitness®. Born and raised in Indiana, she gained valuable experience and education in London, Phoenix, and Chicago, and now is excited to come home and start this unique concept for a fitness and wellness studio. She studied at Ball State University and graduated Cum Laude from St. Xavier University in Chicago. She continues her education to this day with multiple industry certifications, including but not limited to Health & Fitness Specialist from the American College of Sports Medicine. Alicia taught classes and trained clients in some of the most prestigious fitness clubs in downtown Chicago, and rubbed elbows with some of the entertainment industry’s movers and shakers with her time at the fitness studio at the Ritz-Carlton on Michigan Avenue. In addition, she also worked as a producer in the advertising industry in Chicago, where she produced high-end national advertising, helping her gain valuable experience on how to put together an all-star team of talent.

Alicia’s Philosophy:
I have one philosophy when it comes to life and your body. Love thy self and thy temple. It’s quite simple really and that is the beauty of it. You have the power to create a healthy lifestyle. You have the power to take time for yourself each and every day to ultimately better your life. This is not a selfish act but yet an act of love for thy self and when you love yourself you will truly be open to love all that is around you. Find what makes you happy. “Find what you love, love what you find” Dance, Pilates, nutrition, yoga, massage, personal training. Sample it all and have fun learning!
